Activities
The action doesn't stop when the ski boots come off. At Straightline Adventures we want you to get the most out of your camp. After about an hour of decompression from giving it all you've got on the slopes, we'll meet for appetizers, drinks and even more excitement. Each evening we will have a video analysis session and at least one other activity.
Personal Video Analysis
Watching yourself ski on video is one of the best learning tools available. Gordy and his coaches will dissect your turns, airs, powder technique, steeps technique and provide you opportunities to ask questions. The process is fun, enlightening and you will be amazed to see your progress. The dynamic group atmosphere will allow everyone to learn from each other as we check out the day's footage.
Slideshows
Salt Lake City is home to some of the world's best and most published ski photographers. You've probably seen evidence of that in every Powder, Ski, Skiing, Freeze, etc. of the last 15 years. Straightline Adventures is proud to offer you a chance to witness a private slideshow showcasing published and unpublished photography by Utah's best photographers from the best ski locations in the world. See the photos from your favorite movie segments, ask the photographers questions, and learn first-hand what it's like capturing the action on film.
Backcountry/Avalanche Safety Training
Craig Gordon, avalanche forcaster for the Utah Avalanche Center, will teach you the fundamentals of how to travel and ski as safely as possible in the mountains. Craig, one of the nations foremost avalanche scientists, has created the highly successfull Know Before You Go avalanche awareness program and video. Craig's ground breaking video is used worldwide as an introductory avalanche awareness film. Straightline Adventures' attendees will join Craig in the field and in the classroom.
